Hi. Need a little help here. When i turn the key to start I get a click, try a few times and it starts... assume this is a starter issue, but today, my Tach does not work?? could this be a wiring problem ? Would the two problems be related or not? Just replaced the alternator. 86 305 Manual Trans. Any advice appreciated, dont want to change the starter if i can avoid it, same for the tach. I assume the tach is run electronically from the distributor, and not a cable type set up?
    Thanks in advance!!

well if it is the starter then it is the solenoid... try jumping it with a screwdriver... areal pain but it works... if everytime you jump it, it works.. then your starter is bad. the tach just might be another issue all together....
