starts running rough after (2 hours???)

same thing happened 2wice, today and the last time i went wheelin, (i have only taken my rig in the woods 2 times)

have a "holly" 4barrel carbed 350 and it ran freagin BEAUTIFUL for around 2 hours, up steep inclines, down steep boulderous terrain, runnin awesome and no carb issues do to the hills..

i get off the trails and back on the road and im stallin out every few miles and it runs rough at idle, (had to keep my foot on the gas in neutral at stoplights drivin home)

2 hours is the max this truck can stay runnin smooth i have noticed on both occasions, then she starts sputterin. parked it. will be fine next time i take her out.., just wanted to get maybe some idea of why this could be happening at the end of the day with runnin trails.

something is getting hot and not working, the coil sounds like a good place to start, along with the rest of the ignition.

thats what i would bet, but i have know of holleys to get hot and adjusting themself and making a truck run like crap

oh ok gotcha.
yea i guess that makes sense.
alot of stuff gits hot in my rig after a few hours.
last time i actually had a little smoke come out the hood, didnt catch exactly where it was comin from though, just let is sit for 15 and i was good for another hour.

so my ignition coil huh?

I had this exact problem when i had my old points dizzy. I think it was the coil.

Would run great and then all of a sudden like garbage halfway through my trip.

When i replaced my dizzy with an hei one i didnt have any more issues. So i know that was the cause
