If your motor is completely stock then it’s not needed but it won’t hurt either.
Now hear us out on this - if you’re gonna go this far - - - a mild cam and lifter set will make the new carb, intake and exhaust all worthwhile, just say’n.
You will already have the intake off; what’s a little extra work for realistic gains.
Plus it will help in the powerband department with your tire and gear combo!
And once again, a man with a 8.0 Liter V-10 block coffee table can’t be satisfied with a stock cam grind.
I’m not say’n put a big cam in there but just one that will let it run like it should instead of a huge compromise on emissions and economy OEM grind ( which did not do well in either department ).
Just do it….you know ya want to - but don’t let me persuade you in any way. Just Do it !
