Last month I was parallel parking, snap I busted a steering box bolt. The steering box was old so I bought a red head steering box, ARP bolts,Drives sweet.2 weeks later parking again , snap. Another steering bolt snapped. Took box off again got bolt out ,installed new arp bolts, a week later Snap! I have a ord brace on there and had the frame repaired 8 yrs ago. Something’s binding. I bought the ord box reinforcement and the ord box relocater. Didn’t put anything on yet. Any suggestions. Plz help. I’m in NYC and there’s no 4 x4 shops here. I don’t know what to do. Thank You. Any help will be greatly appreciated!! MM

You might have a bind, broken frame, or even a box that’s not sitting completely flush on the frame when tight

Try putting the axle on jack stands, disconnect the drag link from the box (maybe disconnect the pitman arm since it’s been off recently) and see if the axle easily cycles left to right.

The factory put 1" long spacers on the inside of the frame rail (NOT between the box and frame) to prevent the bolts from breaking. I have an extra set of factory bolts and spacers available if you need them.

The ORD Bolt-on brace has those spacers built in for the back two bolts. And the piece that connects to the crossmember and the front upper bolt has the spacer too. The forward lower bolt is not touched is that the one that's breaking?

I would disconnect the drag link from the pitman as mentioned.
Then turn the wheel to full lock one way, move the wheels all the way that way, and see if the pitman travels farther than the link will allow. Then repeat the other direction.
Your box may be over traveling the range of the axle due to incorrectly adjusted sleeves.
