Steering box cracking an issue with a 1 ton?

Do the 1 ton frames have any issues with stress cracks at the steering box like the 1/2 ton and 3/4t frames?

The 1 tons use a different frame, so I'm hoping it's not an issue with these trucks, as I am quite heavy and spend a lot of time in plowed ground that puts a lot of strain on the steering system.

yep fixing mine right now, you can see in the second picture the small crack starting

same frt half just back half of frame is taller than the 1/2 -3/4 tons.

bolt in brace in all my stuff to prevent and stiffin up the box area and better road feel.

I have the ord steering brace... everyone said do the weld in kit too but I didnt... now I wish I did..... not sure if mine is cracked or not.. too scared to look and the truck is off the road...


however I just noticed when I rock my steering wheel (with truck off) I hear a clunk... and it is coming from that section... also looks like when I put stress on the steering... the frame and engine cross member appear to go from L to \_
