hey all, im finally putting the brace on. My blazer is a 84 diesel. The brace seems to run into the brake line router(sorry dont know actual name) on the front cross member. This in turn will not let the one side of the brace sit flush with the cross member. I have not drilled the hole yet, because im unsure if it will be in the same spot when flush.

The hole should already be there and be empty. It's ~7/16" and you just gotta hog it out to 1/2", IIRC.

The brake lines can be carefully pushed out of the way; you may be looking at the combination valve aka proportioning valve. I don't think I have a brace on my diesel (doh!) but on my '74 and on the '90 the brace went on without a hitch.

You might post up a pic, if you can, of what's going on.

yup the hole is there but the brace sits about a 1/4 inch below the hole. Should I pry the brace up and slide a bolt through? I have the 2 bolts on the steering box already, but I can redo it

Oh yeah, the hole never lines up... every frame is tweaked just a bit different.

I seem to recall on one truck that I used a bottle jack to manipulate the brace into place.
