any body know the in side deck width and lenght? building a trail trailer going to end up cutting the bed length down to 52" long but i dont know how wide the the bed will be. im bought a rust free bed from south cal. and have trade it to a buddy of mine for his slightly rusty s.s. so that way im not cutting a good bed up. was planning on making a simple 1.5 x 1.5 angle iron frame 52" long x __" wide, for the floor sence this trailers just going to be for hauling camping gear, nothing heavy. will post pichures later on to night.

So you want the I.D. measurements of a shortbed stepside ?

If so I will measure mine this afternoon and post them for you. :thumb:

Ok here what I got. mine measures 79" long x 50" wide.

I hope that helps.

well the tires are on there way here from doubletrouble and the new m101a3 8 lug trailer axle is also on its way, should be here in indy first thing tomorrow morning. bed wont be here till july 4th tho, but that just give me the time i need to clean the frame up for paint, weld the rear tail pan in, and wire it for lights. im perty sure once the newer tires get mounted on the tailer, i could mount the spare tire under the front of the tung and this trailer could double as a life raft or small boat. lol, you'll see.

got the new axle under it and got the tires mounted up will post pichure shortly.

first pichure is of what im thinking of using to finish the rear of the trailer up with.

second is rear shot, u can really see the advantage of have that m101a3 axle, nice 24" clearence in the middle of the axle.

third a frontal shout. the tungs a bit over kill, but i like it. thats a 30' tape on top of a 5 gal. bucket to give u all an idea of the size of this trailer. its got 44s on it.

need a hitch like this on it though.

going to stick with the penal hook, makes for a nice added recovery point.

A penal hook would hurt like h3ll!:doah:

how much does that cost and where could one get one? and second it would involve a me having to make a new adapter for it to bolt on to the front of the tung, and i would need a 6 ton one. i just dont think a 3.5 ton will get it gone right.

I was thinking it'd be easy to fab one. A pintle hitch would be fine to . Their just noisy. I seen the blue part in your pic and it looked like its still got a ball hitch on it. I didnt think about the fact that its still being fabbed. I seen a hitch on the jeep trailers that has 360* rotation and alot of up and down movement similar to the one in the pic I attatched. I searched google under "360 pintle hitch" and found that pic. :thumb:

well made some progress o this trailer and got a few new pictures for u guys, changed diritions a bit. i used four fleet side header panels to make the sides of my trailer. First picture is helen on the left anny on the right and the seconds me and the girls and third and fourth are aubrey (my wife) and the girls.
