On the triple stick setup does the floor have to be modified ? Gm 203/205 with a 2 in rotation.
We are working on installing my dad's doubler in his 72 and we had to modify the floor so the shifters could have full throw. But the kit does come with some awesome shifter boots.
Yes, you will have to cut out some of the side of the tunnel, I covered it up with black duct tape.
thanks for the fast reply.
how much cutting is required ?
does the new boot not cover it ?
The boot covers the top of the holes but not the side of the tunnel, that is where you have to cut due to the extra width of the sticks.
You can always take some sheetmetal and make a little 3 sided box to extend the side of the tunel to clear the shifters. Im almost positive thats what we are going to do on my fathers truck.
You probably will have to cut a little on the floor, we just couldn't stack the 3 sticks side by side, have good function and durability and make it fit without sheet metal mods.
can we get some pics of the sheet metal mods?
I think there's a pic in Fox's Doubler writeup, that's the first place to try. I don't think we have any pics of it yet.
I will rip off the black duct tape and snap some pics for you guys, this weekend, someone might have to remind me though. /forums/images/graemlins/waytogo.gif
