i just helped a good yung kid strip a 95 chevy van for the 350 and comp + harnness for his heep project that will be all gm driveline.

to save him a few bucks and teach him somthing i was hoping someone might have some info on our needs.

its a 95 g2500 van 350 tbi / 4l60-e unit stock.

we would like to make it engine only harnness and stand alone. i know custom chip is needed. so does anyone have info on what to remove or will it be best to get a stand alone harness.

and if new is in order who might have the best price on it possible. thanks guys. all my trucks start as tbi feed units. so i dont need to play these games.

There are several ways to go about doing the wiring harness. First thing I would do is get a wiring diagram for a G2500 Van - 350 - 4L60E. The next thing I would do is label every connector, including the connectors to the transmission. Then I'd figure out which wires are for the ALDL connector, then which wires are for the Ignition Switch (On / Start), then which wires are for chassis ground (battery - negative) and which wires are battery + positive.

If it looks like the time needed to get the wiring harness finished is taking to long, then maybe it's time to find a harness that is stand alone.

Every wiring harness I've done ... I've needed to splice some wires together with solder and a soldering iron ... just like the factory does.

I went the oposite route of dave w and bought a stand alone chip and harness from affordable fuel injection. they used to be a vendor on here, don't know if they still are or not. The harness was labeled and the chip they sent worked perfectly.

My motor came from a '91 burb w/700R4 and went into a '70 k20 w/465

They're still in business..link

Most of the harness is fairly standalone anyway. You'd just need to figure out the power wires which run into the fuseblock which he won't need. I got a diagram and cut out what I didn't need. If you have the cash for a new harness, then that's a nice way to go.
