What is the difference in height between say a stock 1/2 ton and a stock 3/4 ton pick up? I trying to decide what to do with the 89 blazer i am getting. Primarily a daily driver but it will have a plow on the front. I want the truck to be lifted 2" over stock. I have a 3/4 ton 4x4 parts truck and was thinking of pulling the 3 leaf front springs out of that and putting them into the blazer. I know the 3/4 ton truck is taller, but don't know by how much. Or should i use the stock 2 leaf and go with an add-a-leaf. ride quality is NOT an issue. I figured that i would use what i have available instead of buying.

i have both a 1/2 ton and 3/4 truck, both are 83 and both are long boxes and both 4x4. the height is exactly the same.

there only one thing though my 1/2 ton was a heavy half (6050 GVW) and the 3/4 ton is a light 3/4 (6200 GVW)

all the other trucks ive seen 1/2 or 3/4 are all the same the difernence is 2wd and 4wd

i just put one leaf in the front and it lifted it about two inches on a 1/2 ton.still have those leaf packs. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif i would assume a 3/4 ton is at least 3 in. higher on average. /forums/images/graemlins/k5.gifto /forums/images/graemlins/truck.gif

so putting the 3/4 ton springs would be a waste. Only stiffer, no taller.
Well that sucks. now i gotta spend money!! I hate that!

I don't really care if it's stiff. I only drive it to work and back. A whole 7 miles. Family outings are usually in the wifes truck.

could you shackle flip the back and put some of the rear 3/4 ton leaves in the front to make a spring pack?
