Does anybody make a beefier than stock rear shackle hanger? Not interested in a flip bc I have quality lift springs on the back. I'm gonna be moving the hangers forward about an inch and figure that would be the proper time to upgrade them...

Also, is there any drawback to running a longer rear shackle? Pinion angle is not an issue because I will just weld new perches on at the proper angle. I know I may loose a small amount of lift, which isn't a concern. Just curious because I know longer shackles in the front creates caster issues, and not sure what the consequences in the rear are.

A longer rear shackle will change pinion angle, but it depends on what style shackle you have. If you have the factory style shackle arrangement a longer shackle will point the pinion down more, and if you do the flip style arrangement, it will point the pinion further up. I use a 6in ORD shackle and it flexes much better.

I am not aware of anyone that makes a heavier mount itself, other than the flip kits.

A longer shackle will just rotate the pinion down and lower the back of the truck. I doubt it will cause any noticeable changes to handling. Shackles longer than 4" could have some benefits. If you're a fabricator, you could maybe build your own rear hangers that have the shackle bolt an inch further forward and also lower to compensate for the longer shackle. It saves you drilling a bunch of holes in the frame and makes it easier to go back if you go a different direction later.

Or you could contact DIY4x and they could probably build these parts for you.
