Ok so I’m gonna try to explain this as best I can and y’all can point me in the right direction…..87 k5….pretty much factory set up….no lift on 33s…..after I drive for about 20 minutes and go to stop there is a loud grinding clicking noise coming from underneath as soon as I hit the brakes….it will do it if I’m riding the brakes like in a parking lot or backing up…..I can’t tell if it’s brake related or something else…..after it sets and gets back cool it’s goes away and as long as I’m in short 5-10 minute drives nothing……but as soon as it gets hot it starts….any help would be very appreciated.

It could be a pad moving in the caliper after it gets hot and starts grabbing well. Also get under there and check your drive shaft, pinion yoke. There is also possibility something broke in a drum brake, and you are hearing that.

This might be way off, but maybe a cracked flex plate, or flex plate bolts hitting the back of the block. It is definitly somthing that is expanding with heat, and then causing an interferance problem.

basically you have no idea whats causing the noise start with looking at brakes , check fluids make sure your not low diff transfer case . u-joints make sure there not pissed. LIKE 1-ton said check flex plate bolts . go easy and work your way forward to pain in the a$$

Just put new brakes and rotors on bout 3 months ago…
Did you also put new brakes in the rear? Check 'em. Did you ensure that the calipers were floating freely when you put them back together?

Since you replaced a rotor, you had the front hub off. Something may have gone wrong with setting the wheel bearing nut/locknut. You also could have an issue with the locking hub - especially if you still have the stock automatic hubs.
