I took the factory latch assembly flipped sides (the passenger side is now the drivers latch and vice versa) and flipped them over. Cut off the upper portion of the latch and welded a tab to use a release.
I can take pics tonight of the tab for release and installed.

Cool, I'll keep that in mind if I ever get around to getting tube doors.

very nice work like the ps res and filter. but could you let us know how your going to tie it into the system.
I'll probably weld a fitting to the top of the old ps reservior, cap off the return lines and then run the returns to the top of the reservoir. I haven't installed it yet, as it is part of the hydro assist system that I haven't started working on yet.
I did however make an adapter to run a standard u-joint on the 208 cv flange and started working on my flat belly 465/208 swap. Still need to build the crossmember. Using the stock crossmember to hold it in for now. Bought some seats from a Mitsubishi Eclipse. Wil install passenger seat after I am done massaging the floor.

frekkin awesome stuff.your truck is real clean also.good fab.you could definitely make some good side money with those parts.
That 208 adapter piece is pretty slick. Nice work!

Still need to cut the rear fenders, build a crossmember, finish the clutch linkage, install a clutch, and build the front driveshaft. I hope to wheel it this month, but finances aren't looking that good. Gonna have to redo the exhaust to fit a front shaft with the t-case clocked and no lift.

Started working on a DRW to SRW conversion for a buddy of mine.
Still need to cut the other hub down, and make a wheel mounting surface out of some .250 or .375 plate and press that on the hub. Will have to drill out the bolt holes to fit wheel studs as well.
I also finished up my hand throttle.
I used a bicycle brake lever and a bike brake lever cable. I removed the stock TH350 kickdown cable from the adjuster and slid the brake cable in. I also cut the kickdown cable mount off of the original location and welded it so the cable would pull on the carb instead of push like the kickdown cable. It won't go WFO, but is good for 60-70%. Hopefully will work just fine.

I finished building the crossmember this weekend. Used 2"x.25 angle, some 1.25 x .125 square tube, a little piece of .5 square and a 16" x 16" piece of .375 for the skid. Welded with some 7018 AC rod. Made a cutout for the front shaft to droop out. It's pretty flat, only 1/2" under the frame in the center. It could have been completely flat, except I didn't want to spend the money on a short 465/208 adapter.

No, I wish I had the equipment at home. I've got access to a CNC mill and manual lathe at work. All the stuff I fab at home is grinder, sawzall, drill press and arc welded. I just picked up a 110v mig to do body work type stuff and lighter welding.
The plates pressed onto the hubs were cut with a lazer by a friend of a friend. Had to trade labor to get them cut.

Been working on the truck again. Finished fabbing the clutch linkage out of some 7/16 rod ends and some tubing. Used lug nuts for tube inserts. You can see the clutch linkage in a pic of the exhaust that I fabbed up. I used some 2 1/4 tube, mandrel bends, a 2 into one pipe to some 3 inch tube and Thrush muffler. Headers are some ebay cheapie block huggers. If I had to do it again, I would have used some rams horn manifolds. The exhaust is wrapped all the way to the end of the Y. Also patched the giant hole in the floor from clocking the 208 flat.
Should be driveable in the next couple of days and hopefully wheelable before the end of spring. I'll be picking up an np205 soon and I hope to complete a 208/205 doubler in the near future.
