stupid oil leak

well it might be nice to not have to squeeze the tube.......
and COOL BEANS

That stuff really bonds too,if the surfaces are good and clean (I use brake cleaner )...
My friend had a truck at his shop recently that he had done a gear lube change & flush in hopes it would ward off having to replace the diff, which had been wounded by running it almost out of gear oil ,thanks to a rot hole in the rear cover...
It ended up eating the front pinion bearing, and he told the guy he'd be better off just buying a good used rear end for it ,he doesn't do diff repair,so the guy found one for $250 at a salvage yard..

He went to pull the new rear end cover off he'd put on a few months ago to use on the used diff (it was rusted and ready to leak too, like his old one)..he used the Right Stuff with no gasket to put the new diff cover on the now junk rear end,and he had to use a hammer & putty knife to cut thru the sealant,it stuck so firmly when he tried to pry the cover off,it started to bend,it didn't want to peel off!...had to use the putty knife like a chisel all the way around to get it off without bending it!..

I've watched a guy on YouTube smear a whole caulking gun tube of Right Stuff over a 7.3 diesel's rotted oil pan--all he did was hook up a shop vac to the oil filler opening and blocked the breather off,and sprayed the pan off good with a few cans of brake cleaner ,then smeared it over the entire pan using rubber gloves, left the vacuum running for 15 minutes ,then shut it off..no more leaks!.
He .didn't even have to drain the oil..beats taking the cab up off the frame and having to pull the engine to put a new pan on..it was an old plow truck that didn't see much road use, wasn't worth doing it "right"..

Yea I've only ever found it in aerosol like that of in a caulk tube, I still haven't figured out how to store it after use so I do r waste the rest of the tube

Aluminum intakes need to be scuffed up good to let the RTV have something to bite into...smooth as glass isn't good..

Well so far must have done a good job
Fire it up no leaks so far And checked to see if
Timing was spot on , verified with light
So I must have found sweet spot for dizzy

I took a inspection mirror with light and looked at rtv on front and back of intake/ block and it looks like it’s sealed up.

Took for a ride and looks like no nor leak at intake
I need to get pressure washer out and clean bottom of blazer to get residue off

yep just got done washing the bottom of the truck and now the speedo seal inside housing is only thing left
I nicked it driving it in............

I leave oil spillage on my truck!--keeps the rust from eating it faster..:D
If anything,I should spray it with more used oil...but not till I weld up some spots on the frame ..

i just didnt want dripping from old leak want to make sure no more leaks

Yeah, spraying more oil on, is one way to fool you into believing nothing else is still leaking though....hard to spot new leaks when everything is oil soaked..

The cab floor above the transfer case on my pickup is still like brand new, still has original paint--only spot on it thats not at least surface rusted...the T-case weeps at the rear seal and ATF gets flung up onto the cab floor above it..doesn't drip on the ground while parked so I just top off the fluid every couple months..

I need to fire up my weed torch and burn the oil & diesel my truck has dripped on the driveway off,it is getting so I cant walk near it after it rained,it's so slick!.

Ok I QUIT! It’s leaking in the same dam spot even after being very careful

It is leaking above and below the rtv

Looks like a large gap man, I'd consider funning valley gaskets wit rtv on both sides. If it makes ya feel any better my intake gaskets are saturated with coolant again you can see it running down the front of the head... :dunno:
