I am looking at getting a rear axle with 3.73s to replace my 3.08s, but its from a 77 chev truck with 6 bolt lugs, and i have 5 bolt lugs.

will it work?

Yep, they're the same width between truck and 'burb. You're putting it on a 2WD? I figured it must be if it's 5lug. If they're both 10B axles then shafts should interchange, unless yours happens to be 88-up, then spline count may not match.

yup, 2wd 5lug.

its an 86 burb, and as far as I can tell the rear is 100% stock.

Yeah the 77 will have a 12 bolt, yours is a 10 bolt so shafts will not interchange.
Why do you want a 6 lug rear?
Are you getting it to go 3.73 gears?
