I've had a few discussions with some of you about a phenomenon called "alpenglow" that happens quite often in Canmore. Basically, alpenglow occurs when you see the glow of a sunrise or sunset on the tips of the mountains . However, you can't actually see the sun itself because it is hidden by an opposing mountain range. A true alpenglow is either orange or red, and once you see it, you'll never forget it. It's one of nature's best gifts. Anyhow, I took the camera to work today, and tried my best to take a few pictures. Unfortunately, by the time I got out of the office, the reds and oranges were more yellow than anything, but at least the following pics give you an idea of what it looks like. Pic #1 and pic #2 meet in the middle, creating one long panoramic shot from right to left: Hopefully you guys enjoy these!!!!
