Heard that a half-mile wide tornado leveled the town of Greensburg...
If the sirens went off in Wichita last night, I slept right through them.
yep i was just watchin the news and they were talkin bout it. hope everyone's ok
Yup, I was through there just a little over a month ago. I'm just over 100 miles from Greensburg. So far, this spring we've been getting our asses kicked by all of the tornadoes and we're expecting more tonight.
apparently there were quite a few in St. Louis last night. good thing i'm bout 90 miles south. heard the news chopper guys were watchin it and videoing it. wish i coulda saw
I'm alive and kicking.
The tornado missed my town but don't know by how much. We were right in the middle of the path of the twister from where it touched down at Greensburg.
I was up watching tv and texting back and forth with a few people. Was watching the rain fill up the streets and flooding them, too. Finally the storm passed and I was in bed a little after 3.
At the time of this reply, there's been 9 dead so far in Greensburg. They expect the toll to climb as many people are still trapped in their basements from the house and debris on them.
Last night was a little interesting to say the least. All part of normal, typical living in Tornado Alley.
I was just watching that on Fox. Terrible distruction. Oklahoma got hit too didn't it?
There were reports of a tornado about an hour east of me, but I don't think there was much damage.
We're fortunate over here not to get the extremes of weather and 'nature' you people get, although in the last few years there have been more and more 'mini twisters' appearing and we even had an earthquake last week!
It must be a pretty helpless feeling being in the path of something that destructive.
If one of them comes near me I'll be laying tracks to the Pacific........
i was up in Wichita last night and saw the destruction on the news, it was pretty crazy, the path of destruction was like 3-4 blocks wide, 9 dead and 80 something in the hospital
You come up to Wichita, and don't call me?!
i went up with a friend of mine to pick up a car, up and back, i really dident have time to do anything
just a lot of rain here....7 inchs in 4 hours and still raining
We got a lot of rain here too and the weather channel says we are suppose to get more.
