Hello y’all I have a 1978 K5 Blazer currently with a 4” lift (blocks in the rear and leaf in the front) I am looking at doing a shackle flip and adding another 2” but the flip only comes in the rear is there anyway to do the same flip on the front or do I need to replace the front leaf springs and do I need to change out shocks front and rear since I’m adding 2”? Also when going to a 6” lift does any kind of steering changes need to be done ie..(steering shaft extended, steering arm replaced, axle pinion angle shimmed)
Thank you for any information

You will need to get 6" front leaf springs. Sometimes a 6" lift will not effect drive angle issues too much, but a 6" lift is right on the bubble when it comes to causing driveshaft and steering issues.

The front springs are already using compression-style shackles. Going with a flip in back changes it from tension style to compression out back.

6" lift height would need some form of steering correction. At a minimum a raised steering arm, plus a dropped drag link. Many change from push/pull steering to crossover to take care of multiple issues at once. An extended steering shaft isn't needed as the steering gearbox position don't change when you got to taller springs.

Pinion angles will move for sure, so you'll have to recheck once the flip is completed. If you have a transfer case with a slip yoke you'll probably have to make adjustments and possibly a slip yoke eliminator kit to allow for a longer driveshaft and flatter angles.
