I am trying to make my 74 Chevy 1/2 ton longbed 4wd pickup ride as nice as possible. I will be running 15x8" wheels and 33x10.50 bfg km2's. I have a 2" body lift which I had to use because this was a 2wd pickup that I made 4wd. I am putting stock replacement springs in the front and am using bilstein shocks on all corners. The replacement springs came with new rubber bushings in the main eye. Is rubber best for a good on road ride? In the rear I am using 5 leaf 56" springs from an 84 c10 with the overload removed. I still have my stock 2wd rear spring hangers so I am going to use whatever size of cast iron block it takes to level the truck out or a shackle flip. I have seen many people debate the rubber vs greasable poly bushing thing...and I still dont know which to go with. I am trying to tighten the steering up as much as possible as well and right now just planned on all new components and a steering shaft that eliminates the rag joint. Please help me make my old truck drive as good as it can...
Currently the truck has a 4" rough country lift with 52" long 6" lift procomp springs out back and 35" nitto terra grapplers on 15x10" rims. It rides like poop and steers like poop. Its like it has too much rebound. I also dont have the sway bar on the truck because it has no body roll.
