Been doing LOTS of SAS research, but havn't found too much for the tahoe/yukon body style. Who has done one, where did you get your parts and can I get pics? Also, is it the same as a 1500 b/c they are the same from the front doors forward, or are there differences in the frame/suspension?

I'm gonna be doing an SAS on my 92. I already have the peices from my old 89 that was SAS'd too. I have the ORU kit, but Sky's is the best for the price. If you have a welder then it's easy to make your own. AFAIK the frames are the same, but heard that the 1 tons are a touch wider in the front, but can't remember where I read that. They still bolt on the same, but says that you need to use a spacer that comes with the kit. Beats me what they are talking about.

As I said my parts are off my old truck. ORU kit, Alcan 4" fronts from a guy here, HP60 that I traded for another HP60 that I got on another trade for a rear 60, 14ff from a junkyard, tires I got from a memeber here, rims from Pirate. Once I start working on it, gonna take pics and get a post going. I think it's gonna be the only 454/4L80/205/HP60/14ff 92 Blazer on the net!!!

If my swap goes as planned, then I might have the only 350/465/208/60/14 Yukon. We could start a one of a kind club...

Search extremetahoe. He's got a pretty badass SASed 97.

I'm two weekends into my SAS. Had I gone leaf springs in the front it would probably be done by now. Its hard to beat the ORU kit but I wanted to do something different too so its taking a little longer. my set up is HPD60 front and a 60 rear. I can post pics after finals this week and/or make a thread for the build when I'm done if anyones interested.

Close, I have a 92 Blazer 454/4L80/203/205/Hp60/14ff.

Im about done with the suspension now, few little things to work out.
Ive got the motor & trans out now, going back in soon, I hope.
I will be running 37's or 38's. It has 37's on it now.

Where are you on your build ?

Right now I'm stuck on the wiring of the ECM. I got the harness's, ECMs, just need to repin the harness to match the 454/4L80 harness/ECM. Once that is done, then gonna put them in and make sure they work right, then do the SAS. I need to rebuild the front axle, but can do that after it's in. Once I get started on it, won't take long. Longest/hardest part will be coming up with the money for shocks and other misc stuff. This weekend I might tear into it, buddy has a garage with all the goodies, and HEAT (!!) will be taken some pics along the way.....

Have you thought about doing the frt spring mounts before putting the motor in ?
I did mine with the 350 in but im going to clean up the frame more before I put the 454/4L80 in.

Guess it depends how the wiring goes. I have the ORU kit, so not too much room for adjustment. I have a set of 4" Alcans, and PO said they were soft, so might do the SAS first, see how it sits/rides, then add a leave if needed when the 454 goes in. I might just run the 400 that I had in my old truck if the wiring doesn't work out. I want this to be a driver, so really want to get the wiring done so I can use the 80'. Any pics of yours?? Only got a handful in my sig....

What year motor & trans are you using ?
I also have the oru kit.
I just figured it would have been easier to install (rear of frt spring mounts)with the motor & trans out of the way.
I am using 6in superlifts in the frt.
What size tire are you going to run ?
I dont have any pics right now but can get some next week.

Truck is a 92, motor is an 89, tranny is a 91, and ECM is 92/93. Got a service manual from a local garage, looks to be pretty good. Gonna make copies at work, havta give it back today, I'm sure it's not cheap to buy. As far as the swap, I forgot how much fun it was doing those rear brackets with the motor/tranny still in the truck, good time to clean the frame too. I'm only gonna be running 35s, nothing hardcore anymore. *Might* go to 38s, I still have my cutouts off my 89, but only if I find a good deal on the tires. With the 454/4L80 and 4.10s, 35s will be a good combo for all around driving. I don't think I'll have a lack of power, seeing how I didn't with 40" boggers and 3.73s in the old truck....

if your 4" alcans are anything like my 4" alcans then you are in for a treat, mine ride like a caddy! and 35s will look WAY small with that... im not running a BL or anything and i clear 38s :wink1:

When I had all this on the 89, that was a 1 ton, which I didn't know this body style sat higher, but with 4" junkyard springs, a big block, and after they overflexed, it sat aboot right, the way I should have left it. I hope it does ride like a Caddy, mostly gonna be a street queen, with the occsional offroad trip. I miss having a nice truck, wanna fix this up nice and perty!!! Might start tearing it apart this weekend.....hoping.....
