I have a rebuilt motor that has a pete jackson noisy gear drive it is currently carbed. Is it possible to retain this gear drive and install a TBI set up. Possibly with a re-calbriated chip or something, the truck doesnt have to be emission inspected. I believe it is the knock sensor which is affected by the noise could this be eliminated?

Yes. You can program the chip to ignore sensors and disable functions like EGR ect.
Brian at tbichips.com can do it for you.
beings the engine was carbed. You will need to have a custom chip burned for your set up to work with TBI anyhow.

Aside from cam/intake matching to TBI the geardrive would only really effect a knock sensor. The latter would have to be disabled.
