TBI poor performance until 1800rpm

    I have an '88 with a TBI 350. I've been having a problem pretty consistently now where the truck drags until it hits about 1800 rpm when it then takes off from there on. Is there some electronic or mechanical part that works in stages where the first stage controls low rpm and the second controls the upper half?
