Tennessee Diesel Conversions

I'm considering this swap but I want to retain my current trans, a 700r4( yes I know ), for some cost saving. I'm planning a putting in a 4l80 one day. Are you able to get the cummins to gm adapter or is that something I'm on my own for?

I would prefer to not use the one with the 10 degree tilt, but if I'm stuck with that I can make it work.

Yes,I have them in stock . If your wanting a non tilt I can make you one,it use all the stock GM/Cummins parts .Your going to need a different converter because the wave ring has 6 mounting ears and the stall will be to high on a stock gas or 6.2 diesel .Are you going to use the 700R behind the 4bt ,they won't last long behind a 6bt.

Thanks

I'm still gathering info at this time, so I can make a better decision if I'm going to spend that amount of money.

Yes i would be running a 6bt, they're easier to find then a 4bt and if I'm going through all that work might as well get what I really want. The 700 would be temporary as I know it wouldn't last too long. A 4l80 is what I want to run so it would depend on how timing for money works out. But knowing that changing trans would be a bolt in affair would make life some much easier, if I have to run the 700 for a while that is.

I would stay away from all GM transmissions (other than the NV4500) behind the 6B. Just my 2 cents. Build a Dodge unit or go NV4500. 4L80E is a good trasnmission but it was never meant for the brute power of the 6B. Go drive a Ram with the Cummins, you'll understand better.

I understand the 4L80 is a good transmission. I own one myself behind a 6.5. I am telling you that it wasn't designed to handle the torque curve of the Cummins. The cummins is full on 400-500 ft/lbs (in stock form) at like 800 RPM. Since it was never found behind the Cummins there are limited parts to make it suitable for that application. Yes you can build it, buy a raptor, or a PATC, but understand you are going beyond it's design strength. These guys build the 4L80 for high horse gas motors, not at all the same thing as a high horse diesel. You will tear the torque converter out of that thing so fast your head spins. Don't get me wrong, I am no fan of the Dodge tranny but understand that a lot of guys have spent time coming up with ways to make it near bullet proof and that is why I am telling you to run it. I have a friend who has been through this, trust me. You will break any of those GM transmissions in short time if you roll into the throttle often or tow. Perhaps an Allison 1000 but you'd be better of dropping a Duramax in with all the wiring. You will have a hard enough time keeping an NV4500 together never mind the 4L80. My buddy is running a 10 speed road ranger now, enough said.

Do you sell 5.9s too? Im looking to do a swap using your kit.
