It is a ways off, but I like to plan things early. Next summer, probably late July, I plan to bring my girlfriend and the kids to Colorado for some backcountry fun. I spent lots of time backpacking the fourteeners as a kid and am looking forward to driving some. Plus, my g/f and the kids have never seen real mountains. Anyway, I will be driving from Dallas and plan to do some fun, fairly simple trails that have beautiful scenery and offer some get-away-from-it-all kind of fun and peaceful camping. We aren't going to do anything too agreesive as I don't want to break that far from home and my rig isn't built for rocks (1/2 ton drivetrain). I expect us to spend a week or 10 days from home. Probably 3-5 days on the trails. So, I know it is a long way off, but would anyone be interested in joining us for a nice relaxing time? If you are from down here, we can caravan. If you are local Colorado, we can always meet up somewhere or on the trail. I don't know which ones we will take yet as we are still planning. But, would anyone be interested?
