I noticed I had a leak at the detent cable in my TH350. So I pulled it and sure enough the housing for the cable was cracked. I grabbed another detent cable and put on a new o-ring. Installed it and it still leaks...

Any suggestions? Would RTV on the cable housing base be good there?

Mine had a little gasket... Sure RTV it!! :waytogo: But be carefull, dont want a "booger" to fall inside the tranny.

there is actually two different seals for the detent cable for a TH350 one is an o-ring the other is like a boot type of seal that slips over the part that slips into the trans. you cant just put an o-ring on if it has the other type the proplem that i ran into is that only tranny shops have the one like a boot.
also tranny fluid is like gasoline it will eat rtv and wont seal very long i had the same problem i fixed it by using both the boot style seal and a small oring works good for me.
