I'd like to post my application and if there is a thorough link discussing the ins and outs, I would be grateful. Searching with key words of 700r4 swap ends up with a lot of unrelated threads for some reason.

My truck is an 85 long bed K10 with a TH350/NP208 set up. The truck came with a 700r4 and a PO swapped in the TH350. I want to swap a 700r4 back in since I installed 4.56 gears. 3 gears is not cool now. Most of my searching on the web ends up with car or 2wd truck applications discussing tail shafts, drive shaft mods, etc. My main question is since its 4wd with a t-case, will a 700r4 bolt right in to the NP208 in its present location? I know I need to move the cross member back but I should be able to just go back to the original holes. I thought the main case of the 700 was longer than the th350.

I'm not sure about TC lock up connections or the tranny cooler lines or what's needed to go to the TV cable. Can someone give me a clear break down of what is compatible and what will need moving/fitting/modding? I know it's a common topic but it's not as easy as it seems to find all the info I need that varies depending on the application. Thanks for any help.

the 700r4 is longer. you have an adapter on your turbo 350 to make it fit. 700r4 should bolt right up and go in the factory holes.

thats prob whats on your th350

since you have to pull the whole thing anyways. I'd look around for a np241 to replace the np208. you can get a slip yoke eliminator for the np241 which fixes the number one problem and bane of all things holy on the np208/241's.

you can put the lock up on a switch

the tranny lines are the same

the TV cable is a bracket and cable..you might still have part it on your motor..hit a you pull it yard for a late 80s chevy

Thanks for replying. You're right, I do have that spacer between the TH350 and the transfer case. I was glad to see that because that should mean I don't have to get a shorter drive shaft. My carb also has a busy looking bracket where the throttle cable is that looks like something else should be in the mix. All I should need to do know is get a TV cable. I'll read up on the 241. I haven't been told about that option before. Thanks again for the info.
