Which should I go with? I have the th400/np203 but I found a truck (cucv with 3/4 ton axles) with the th400/np208 in it and I might buy for the axles and bumpers etc. Don't know much about the th400/np208 combo. Thanks!

the 203 combo will leave ya ready to put a 205 behind it for a doubler later on

Don't think I will ever need a doubler due to the lack of rocks in my area. Mostly mud and some "wooded trails"! I'm going to run 4.56 gears with 38" tires so I think I will be ok.

the 208 has a better low range than the 203. if you dont plan to ever go with a doubler then just run the 208, and keep or sell the 203

208 is 2.61:1
you could prob sell that 203 and adapter and tailshaft from tranny to someone who wants to do doubler

Is there any 208 transfer cases that don't use a slip yoke rear? If so has someone designed a slip yoke eliminator?

you can use dodge 208 parts and make it fixed yoke I've heard otherwise a 241 is a direct swap for the 208 and you can buy a SLE kit for them

yep, i have a 208 in mine, but i just bought a 241 with the plan to sye it

i like the 208 over the 203 just cause that 203 is so dang heavy and awkward its a mother to take in and out of the truck. also 208s are way more common and are easier to get parts for.

would need to get a 32 spline 205 or find a 10 or 27 spline 205 and get a 32 spline input shaft and have a machine shop bore out the input bearing hole to make it fit( I made a 10 spline into 32 for my doubler) then find the adaptor which are kinda spendy. I beleive you'd need to use your 208 tranny tailshaft, I think the 203 tranny tail shaft is too short for 205 but someone on here might conform that or correct me on that.
