oh and my kitties want to thank you for their new toys, i mean all the packing material kert...:haha:

Wow :eek1:

You'll keep us posted on your build? I'm interested to see how it's done.

i suppose i could, but i didnt think most people on here cared because it wasnt a full size.

but i guess a few details are in order. btw, i just sorta cut and pasted with little editing from a buildup thread on another forum.

this started as a bone stock 89 2dr blazer, complete with 2.8 and t5 with a 231 t-case.
here it is stock:

and here is the broken window that started it all:

so now, i have gathered some parts to make this thing how i wanted to in the first place. here is a break down of what i want to do

front axle:

74' HP 44 housing (ford)
knuckles and brakes from an 8 lug chevy 44
1 1/2" wheel spacers on each side
4.56 gears
detroit locker
behind the axle steering

rear axle:
14 bolt from a van (full float, 70" wide)
im keeping the drum brakes because they are like brand new (plus i will retain the e-brake)
4.56 gears
welded spiders
possibly shave housing for 3" more clearance (shaved ring gear, cut and plated housing)

suspension:
3 link with panhard front and rear
jeep tj coils
square tube link material
poly bushings all around

engine:
flipped air cleaner lid
other than that, bone stock to keep it reliable

gear boxes:
stock t5 trans
231c mated to a 241c w/ D&D doubler adapter
square tube front driveline

other:
38.5x16x15 tsl's
15x10 8 lug black steel w/ 4" BS
rock sliders
probably the start of an exo cage

Tell you the truth, nobody will even notice it's a S-10 with all those goodies under it. :wink1:

What's the difference if fullsize guys shed their skin, narrow the front and rear, lose the doors and top? :D

A yellow S-10 wheeled Moab with us and we thought it was cool.

true. at least i kept it in the gm family. my last rig (which i never finished), was a 85 k5.

It'll be nice to see something different once in a while, I don't think we'd mind to see your build.

I wouldn't mind seeing a build up of your s-10. Sounds like its gonna be pretty cool when its done

I would like to see the progress. I want to build one for the narrow trails that my jeep buddies zip thru and I have to pick my way carefully thru. Plus I know of no less than 3 s10 blazers for $500 or less around here.

Post away!!!

But I love my K5!!!

Wider than a stock K5 when you add the wheel spacers and a van 14BFF - but less body damage. I say post away, I'd like to see it too. My DD died and I'm thinking of picken up a beater S10 to replace it.

I'd love to see a buildup on an s10. If I had the recources i would have bought an ext cab 4.3/5-speed s10 and done a 44 swap instead of my fullsize. But I'm just 18 with no garage :D

I guess that is half the fun of ordering from Kert. He should trademark that random box thing.

If it keeps prices down he could ship me parts in goat skins and I'd be Ok with that.
