Personally I have and love the sound of Flowmaster 50's. Mine has dual 2.5" single in/out on it. A buddy of mine has a 2 into one Magnaflow that sounds good too, it is quieter than my Flowmasters.

I found the flowmaster 50 series I had on the Yukon to get a little irritating at certain revs, but I loved the magnaflow I put on during the axle swap so much I put one on the Silverado as well. Niether one drones at all and sound delightful to the ears.
My flowmaster 50's on the bee have been nice so far. 3" pipe, X pipe, and 2 50's with turn downs,,,,, no droning and pretty quiet unless your ON it. Driving around town, no bed, windows down, rear slider open, and I can hold an easy conversation with a passenger.
If you want quiet, get a big muffler. Had a big Magnaflow that was nice a subtle and now I have the Flowmaster 50 series big block muffler and it too is quiet. It's also quite large.

LOL it makes me happy too but honestly I wish it were angrier.

This is the muffler I put on my wife’s 2011 ram. It sounds pretty good and inside the cab it’s not too bad...
Biggest muffler you can fit. On my truck I got the quietest 2.5 Borla's they offer. Dual exhaust. Was still too loud( no insulation caged to body solid etc...). I then put resonators on as well. Helped a bit. But I just can't go bigger due to packaging. Bigger case makes a huge difference.
YouTube videos of the "Jones quiet tone" ... It fits your category of Too quiet. But still has a better than stock sound. When I put the one on my 2001 Silverado I was actually disappointed because I wanted louder. Wife was thrilled though

If you want quiet use the biggest bodied muffler you can fit and run the pipe all the way out the back. No dump pipe or side exit. And get something meant for stock replacement. I seem to remember a buddies '04ish F150 had a huge muffler from the factory, and big pipe too...

If you run the exhaust all the way out now you may find it is quiet enough now because it is not very loud with out a muffler at this point.

I drive past this car just about everyday on my way in to work, stopped and got a pic for you. I bet this exhaust is dang quiet, I'll knock on the door and ask him who his muffler guy is if you want to try something similar
