If you are going to BOMB the Cummins, you have to add gauges, it's a matter of fact. Make it your first modification. Just make sure when you add the EGT probe you put it BEFORE the turbo. Make sure that when you add the probe you don't get any of the shavings from drilling the hole into the turbo. Read the posts on DTR or Turbo Registry on how to add the probe.
If you are going to BOMB the automatic, make sure you have the trans reworked to allow for the HP, auto's and chips don't like each other, in the high HP settings. If you are running the stick, you will be ok up to about 325 HP, after that, you have to swap in a HD Clutch pack, the same thing, the high HP setting will blow out the stock clutches.
The Cummins is the @hit to BOMB, but like Russ said, it cost us more to make the necessary mods to handle the HP. Be very carefull when BOMBing the Cummins, DC will void all warranty when they find out that you have BOMBED the truck, and they will know! The new trucks computers leave a leftover code and DC will know you have modified the trucks. Even if you remove the fueling box.
They have gotten very smart due to the warranty issues.
These trucks rock, I would not trade mine for anything, other than a newer one. Everyone know the Cummins is the $hit when it come to towing and such.
Congradulations, and enjoy, just follow the breakin guidelines and start hanging out on some of the Dodge Diesel Boards.
