"The Instigator" 1990 Burb

35's still rub with 6" of lift. It's a fact. 38's would rub a hell of a lot.

I'm not scared of a nibbler and paint work, nor am I scared to run a narrow tire and the right offset wheels. There are ways to keep tires from rubbing. You would probably also guarantee that every stock k10 with worn out springs would rub with 33s and no lift, as well as have massive axle wrap, but you'd be wrong about that, too. Not every truck is the same, not every wheel is the same, and not every wheel and tire combo is the same. Once again, there ain't exactly a whole bunch of off-camber stuff around here.

I had to cut my fenders to fully tuck 35's.... (6" of lift.)

I had to cut some more to fit 36's,
and beat in the fender-wells with a hammer.... :thumb:

I'm gonna run 37" H1's... that'll be more cuttin' & whackin'.

Skid has to drop first then the straps are unbolted behind the bumper.
An access panel is a good idea and some did just that.

All said and done, with removing the carpet and underliner and throwing the underliner in the trash due to it being soaked with some petroleum product, cutting the access panel, and swapping said unit, it took 35 minutes. Next time, or on the trail, it will take 5. Furthermore, that SOB was over half full. No thanks on dropping a 160lb fuel tank.

I'm not scared of a nibbler, and I want to repaint anyway, so perfect excuse, and a set of new, modified inner fenders would be a great reason to relocate the battery to the back, while adding a second, and a great time to install a second compressor for OBA. This truck has superlift springs front and rear with only a factory block out back. Contemplating a flip with 63s and whatever spring it is you put up front, 56s?

Just saying more often than not, 35s will rub with 6" of lift. Don't put words in my mouth.
