The Misfit K5 build

Well, one of my 33's has a side crack and these dominator tires are not even made anymore so im at a lose for finding a new tire. cant afford new 33's or 31's so im probably going to settle for some used 31's. its all i can afford right now.

I really want to drop this thing, so i guess 31s will be better in the long run anyways, but it still sucks since i wont have time or money to put a 2wd front end on it for a while. :dunno:

Wouldnt a 2wd front end have a-arms just like the pickups?

And if thats the case, I wouldnt go hacking off all that just to make a 2wd Blazer, just buy one.

I dont know a heck of a lot about suspension so id really like to lower it and be able to keep my 4x4 if possible, im looking into it a lot atm.

So far iv come to the conclusion that i can do the rear with blocks and the front with keys or torsion bars, like i said im new to suspension so i might be wrong.

But i cant afford to get any new trucks, so i gotta use what i got, hehe.

Torsion bars are for a-arm type suspension. Like on any year newer than 87 chevys in the pickups. Can't be used with leaf springs. Check a magazine like Truckin, they have a lot of adds and blah blah about lowering vehicles and may be able to help.

Could leafs be taken out of the packs to lower? Would prolly ride better too. Just dont tow anything lol.

I understand your painting methods but those bumpers come off real easy, and so do the mirrors. The amount of time you spent taping off you probably could have removed the stuff you painted. Seeing how your PO wired stereo stuff, I bet they didn't even put all the screws back in the door panel. Not ragging on ya, just sometimes people over think things, and make them way more complicated then they actually are.

Yep, Im guilty of never putting all the screws back in the door panels.

Always take them off and hose the insides of the doors out once in awhile, to keep nonsense from building up down there and rotting my girl out.

Why do you want to lower it???

Martin

Few reasons, i like the look, easier to maintain, (im big). Cant afford to keep replacing these big tires, mostly i just want that low hotrod stance. plan on doing lots of work to the engine next year.

oh dude, i tape things off in a matter of seconds! hehe. i figured i could tape it off quicker than removing stuff. and you are correct! missing door panel screws... among other things, lol.

until i fixed my lock i was taking the panel off once a day to rig it back up, so i do the same sometimes, especially if i know im gonna need to get in there over and over and over again.

Dunno, but as long as it wouldnt mess anything up im ok with it. :D dont plan on pulling anything other than my big ars. :)

indeed, gottem on, looks goofy as all hell, im pretty sure my truck has a lift on it.

31s where the stock tire size on these correct?

I just wanna figure out a way to lower this thing enough so it doesnt look awkward, doesnt have to be slammed... just dont want it looking silly..

i could only afford 31s so im stuck with it..

oh yeah, the tire place didnt know how to align my truck so thats cool, my drivers side wheel bearing is also out, i might fix that my self this weekend.

Nice blazer, but if you wanted lower it you should have gone with a 92-99 Blazer (Tahoe Sport) as they are a lot easier to lower.

thanks man, at this point i just want it a inch or two lower than stock, dont need to slamm. im pretty sure it has a lift on it atm, these 31's look silly on here. no way it came like this stock or im just to used to seeing my 33s on it. i dunno.. i am going to snap a pick tomorrow so everyone can laugh at me. :haha:
