The new Garage

I'm tired of working in my tiny 2 car garage so I'm finally building a big (30'x60') shop to work in.
That's all concrete already, it's just covered with dirt right now.

I finally managed to get the S-10 out of the garage yesterday and couldn't resist taking a picture of the first vehicle on the new slab!

I can't wait until they start framing!

I got all the mud cleaned off the driveway (pain in the ass) and flew the drone up again. I realised that at some point the reprogrammed one of the wheels on my controller to adjust the f stop and that's why my pictures kept getting darker and darker (I kept bumping it)... So this shot is a little brighter than the last few.

The GC said they're dropping lumber off Monday and starting framing Tuesday!

And new rubbers too!

Small update, they came and poured the section of my patio that was missing and made it ramp up to where the door will be. Other than the back driveway which will come later after construction is complete, this is the last of the concrete.

Holy cow, they delivered the lumber this morning and went to town! There was crazy progress today. They have one whole side of the garage up and the other side is up all the way to where it has to join in with the existing patio roof.

The back wall is built, but not in place yet. It's so massive I had to take a picture with the drone.

I giggled when I saw this view driving home.

It's awesome but it's a monster next to the house.
If it wasn't so close to the house I would mind but being this close I would have made it lower.
To each their own I guess

He had to attach it to the house for a regulation issue. Separate wouldn't have worked for him. He mentioned it in an earlier post so I'm just hitting the high notes.

Excellent progress by the way! WooHoo!

Also, regulations say that the addition (even if it were a separate building) have to match the architecture and style of the existing building. When it's done it will just look like an addition to the house.

See that is what concerns me, I am an architect and looking at your house and looking at the volume you have coming up that's not going to be easy task and if successful the bill would be big.
I know that the property is small and this the only way you get the function you need.

The bill is big for sure, the garage will have more square footage than the main house (barely).
