The oddest intake I've ever found... Fixed!

Square bore isn't it? And too late anyway lol. Got this one, and it's gonna have to do :waytogo:
Plus I don't deal with flea bay much. been burned a couple times.

Ended up being super easy. I did the tap it and plug it method.
I'm going to try my hand at JB weld once more, and use it as a thread sealant for the plugs.

I think the notch by the one intake port will be fine. It's only about .005" at the sealing edge. The gasket will probably do its job there. But I'm going to put just a tiny little smudge dab of the Indian Head in the middle of it when I put it in anyway. Just to be sure.

Glad I decided to take the back plate off and look under there. This would have been a LOT of fine azz sand to run through the lifter valley :doah:

If you haven't had great success using jb weld its because your mixing it wrong. (Or you trying to use it in place you actually need to weld, but thats a different story)

Anyway I keep a couple new packages of this stuff for around the house use.
It ensures a proper ratio and I have had good luck with it. I believe they have the same packaging with the dual plunger with stuff for metal as well.

I use that a lot.

But it's not good for heat and chemicals I don't think.

I've followed directions to the T with the original JB. And each time it hasn't performed as they said it would. One was patching a couple pin holes in an old cast aluminum chainsaw gas tank. Hadn't had liquid in it for years. Cleaned the hole face of the tank down to bare metal. Cleaned with brake clean. Mixed it in even amounts till a smooth even color. Smeared it on in a good layer all over. And let it sit for almost 2 weeks. Poured gas in it and watched it wet it's self. Can't see anywhere i went wrong...?

Gave it a half hearted try in a few other places after that with similar results, and never bought it again. Started using the epoxy putty sticks after that in any place I would have used JB. Never had an issue with those.
Unfortunately that is too thick to use as thread sealant, so I'll give JB a try again. I can't see how it'll matter in this application really. If it holds at all it'll be better than nothing.

I don't think I even need to put the JB on them. Mainly doing it to ensure they stay where they are and don't allow miniscule vacuum leaks.

I have some of this sealant.
Says it's good for gasoline and up to 250*C. Which is like 482*F. But I'm not sure how hot exhaust is at that point?

I'm going to put an egr block off plate. But that blocks 1 side. Not the other.
It actually looks like it won't block exhaust from going through the passage. Just from getting to them plugs. Which may be enough.

Again. Nitrous cools things. Its really the perfect solution for you. Plus its the only way that 360 will ever do burnouts.

....
It's got the one legger handicap. Makes things a lot easier lol

Finding a 79 cordoba bumper worth using is near impossible. So we put that on, and we're going to modify it and build off of it to make it look better.

His goal for the car is to strike fear in nuns and small children lol.

Not to mention any other motorist with their car within 50' of it.

The fireball is in the cocoa because I'm snowblowing the shop drive lol

The intake gasket is .060" thick. So I'm going to just go with it and hope it fills that .005" groove enough..

I'll dab a little gas safe goop on it maybe.

Only reason I'm worried about that is, if it doesn't hold it'll suck a chunk of sh1t through a valve.

If it's jb weld, it may F stuff up. If it's silicone it'll probably be ok.

Decided to use a JB weld Steel Stick on the intake.
Those Ive used and like.

I drilled an 1/8" hole about an 1/8" deep in the center of the groove. Forgot to get a pic. Then kneeded up a chunk of steel stick and shoved it in there concentrating on the hole first. Then smoothed it out into the groove.
In a couple days I'll file it down.

I put the hole in to give it a grab point that it can't slide out of.

Intake is about ready to go in. Thanks for ideas :waytogo:
