Spotted this sitting in some guys yard for sale he wasn't home. So you guys gey to tell me what it is. No id marks. Tag between bolts on side of cover next to tube is so rusty all I can read is last letters AZ, and 73 from line above. check out the extra Thick ribbing. Full floater, looked very large. Thinking dana 70.

dana cover. prob not a 70 as it would have a lip were the cover wouldnt cover it all. since thay both use the same cover 60 and 70.

if the tubes are 4" then prob dana 80 but cant be sure as the style of hubs has me thinking dana 60 for the older style thay look like.

so i thinking dana 80 or dana 60

should be a 60/70/70hd/80 cast in to 1 web on front or back side to help verify the axle size.

Probably a 60 than, the tubes and everthing about it looked big, but the drums weren.t. The ribbing was just something I had never seen before, looks beefier than hell.

drums smaller cause its drw axle judging by the deep backspace on the drums from the hubs.

i am thinking ford or dodge axle by the style of drums.

80,s have a weird cover, skinny,

I didnt know the 70's and 60;s had same cover, but the size of the drums looks like a 60 to me,

all 70's ive seen have big ol drums

Looks just like a dana 60 dually we have sitting around the shop. Tubes measure 3.5" diameter which would lead you to believe its a 70. Measuring the ring gear says 60.

This might give you an idea of where to look, and what to look for....

the 80 has a different center section casting. you can't confuse a 60/70 with an 80. and that is not an 80.

this is a D80. see the casting in all 4 corners. is dished. as in the casting around the outside is thick, and forms a small dish in each corner. and aside from the fact that there is a 3" by 3" 80 cast in to the pinion side of the housing. you can't see it here.

Its over an hour from my house, and I already have enough rear ends, was just curious what it was, if its worth more than my time and gas to resell I will go get it.

Just found one on craigs, guy is asking $600 for a rear end, I didn.t pay that much for my 60/14 bolt combo. Crazy. It looks to be from a 92 ish dodge truck, with abs.

early 80's ford truck d60. srw. maybe even out of a van.

no lip below cover. not a 70
those look like standard ford 60 drums. they used the same offset for a number of years. drw ford axles have a longer step in the drum hat.

i havent seen that lower rib design on the 70s ford axles

thats just my .02

that is a 60 hd (xtra webbing), came in dodges, my buddy has one and the spindle bore diameter fits 35 spline shafts even though is a 30 spline axle perfect for shaft upgrades if your an anti 14 bolt guy like my friend is. Might even have a power loc in it, my buddies came with a powerloc and 4.10's...

Dana 60 HD. Probably out of a 84ish Ford pickup. Not super special, probably 30 spline axles.
