2 weeks after i did my first lift, i removed it and haven't had it since. First lift consisted of 6" TC springs up front, 1" Zero rate, ORD shackle flip, 2" AAL and 1" Zero rate...best thing i did at the time. Currently the suspension is VERY different, and although a sway bar would be nice, its still not necessary. 52s up front, 63s rear with a REAL flat shackle angle...its SUPER SUPER soft and daily driven on 40s. Up until recently i also didn't care much for driving at highway speeds if i didn't need to. Ive driven it some on the interstate, to and from columbia sc a couple times and a few other shorter trips and it wasn't the easiest ride, but could have been a lot worse. For a while i contributed a lot of the crappy driving to the 40s...recently threw a 60 in there and now that its fully rebuilt, got x-over, etc etc, it drives GREAT, even with 40s. Its hard to give a definate answer to weather a sway bar is needed...but if the truck is really THAT much of a handfull to drive without it on 6" or so lift, I, like others, bet there is more to it than just no sway bar. I know a lot of my steering had a little bit of slack here and there, im sure after 135K miles the BJs had some play, etc etc...Its truely amazing how much easier it is to drive a truck when all the chassis parts are nice and tight. I take a few more turns with more speed now than i did a couple months ago because the truck feels a LOT more solid...
