So I decided to pop my cover off the other day at work and change the fluid. Much to my surprise I got a nasty one.

Well you guys tell me :haha:

Anybody in Arizona happen to have a 5 lug 10 bolt with 3.08's or 3.73's? PM me please.

Someone on here or Loco should have a 6 lug 10b that you can swap the shafts in.

Harley

thought you had a 14 bolt, and I think you can get a 6 lug and change the shafts.

I would love a 14 bolt but rockin 2 sets of rims and 8 lug and 5 lug front would be kinda screwy looking, but then again I have 3 different colors so whats 2 rims and lug count going to do anything.

This is what happens when you run a 10 bolt as a 14bolt for years and years.

can you get some 5 lug shafts aftermarket and swap backing plates and brakes on the 14sf?

What do you guys think about running a wheel adaptor? I suppose this would push my wheel out correct?

Something like this for example to convert a 14bff to 5 lug

The problem you would have with running something like that would be the wheels themselves. Most five lug wheels have a small center hub, that is not going to clear a 14bff. Since you have a C10, try looking for older C10's that will have the 6 lug setup, or as was mentioned, pick up a cheap 10 bolt and plug your axle shafts in.

The empty lot next to the strip mall I work in , behind the Dairy Queen , well someone over the holiday just dumped HALF a frame with a rear axle , springs , and two chrome wheels on it . Someone got a trailer

Wow , **** you not , its whats left of a 2wd Chevy frame , home stretched with two i-beams and a 12 bolt . Someone was making a trailer and had to get rid of it . No vin number , its in the field , come fetch it :wink1:

I'm at a dead loss not sure what to do. I could rebuild this or get a used one to swap in. I would really like to have a posi or something back there but money is pretty low right now.

I think what I'm going to have to do, is save some money and just keep running it and pray it doesn't explode.:(

Find a replacement axle with the gears you want and an open carrier. Then you can swap in a lockright later easy or you can have it rebuilt with a posi. This option can probably be had for very little or next to nothing.

A 14bsf with custom 5 lug axles or a Ford 9" would be cooler and stronger but more money.

Yes it would be very nice. I just checked my bank account and working 54 hours last week I should have some change to set aside. I'm currently looking around and seeing what I can find. I would prefer to rebuild with a whole new set of gears, but money talks.

Is a lockright a full locker? I can't remember.

Is this a common break in the g80?

Yes, and yes, broke every one I've ever owned

Ok I have another question, could I pull out the g80 and replace it with a after market posi? I inspected my ring gear and it looked perfect.
