tilt sterring repair Q.

I have the column apart up to the point where i can see 2 of the reverse torx screws but i dont know how to get it apart any father, has anyone done this and have pics, just cant seem to see what the hell is still holding it together.

I got the the point where I could see three of the four, two are easy to see, the third you have to look for. I tightend these three up and let it go at that. I think to get to the fourth for you have to use a puller to take out a couple of pins and such. Column is now tight and solid. Good enough for me at this point

Ihave repaired a few of them. You will need a slide hammer and a screw, small metric size. Don't really remember the size exactly though.

I have a slide hammer, but where would the screw even go????

Use it to remove what is called the "pin Pivot" In this diagram. There is one each side of the column..............

http://elcaminocentral.com/article95.html I made a pin extracter from like a #10 (or was it #8?) screw and nut and a 9/16" socket... maybe a washer too... i forget, but if you can find a screw to go into the pin, youre good to go

most parts stores sell the pin retractors, and you can return them when you're done!
