I always do whenever I put tires on... Just something my Dad always stressed. Torque, drive, check torque.
But yes, it’s always good practice.

Have to order new lug nuts. The ones I have are too big for a socket to fit around in the wheel slot and not long enough to even tighten down
I mean they fit as they are 7/8 inch but there is absolutely no space for a socket.
So I got 9/16-18 3/4 hex. And 1.92 in lug nut length.
After I ordered from amazon I saw there is a 1.66 length. So I may go that route if the 1.92 stick out too far.

Make sure you dont need longer studs . Some aluminum rims are THICK and require on our older trucks a longer studs to get lug nut engagement correct.
Bare min 5 - 6 full turns on the lug nut to stud is required .

Since the lugs nuts are so short I couldn’t really tighten it down. They would sit flush in the new wheel and I wouldn’t be able to remove it. But I will double check engagement when the new lugs nuts arrive.
In the event I need new studs, could you link the proper length ones or the extended ones? I have 3/4 ton axles

This what you have now. You can go to the Dorman chart and see what they have. You have to keep the same measurement from the flat side of stud to the end of the stated knurl and the diameter of knurl. Also thin wall socket is advised.

Yeah I see the thin walled socket. With the lugnut I had no way any socket would fit in there.. Hahahahah

I’ve swapped a few broken ones on my old C10’s. I assume instillation is going to be different with these?
I’m going to have to defer to member expertise here. I’m a bit lost on sizes. I took screen shots of what seem ok for a longer stud but not really sure what I need as far as a longer stud...
It appears I need either the 2 17/32 wheel stud or 2 3/4 stud?
