I'm looking for another K5... and I am trying to convince my wife that it would be a great idea to trade her 97 Grand Prix for someone's K5 who is looking for a car that gets decent mileage... Her arguement is the lack of mileage in a full size truck, and I don't know what to say to her... She would love to have a K5 of her own, but not at the sacrifice of half her gas mileage or more. Hell, I'd love to have another one so I can park the 70 and take out a newer model and beat up or at least have something to get us where we want to go when we want to go... Key points for my arguement... 1. Cargo space 2. Ability to go anywhere 3. Convertible. =) Key points for her arguement... 1. Need good mileage for long trips 2. Rough ride in a K5 with leaf springs 3. Past experience with Carbed motors has made her sick... literally. I suggested a diesel for the better mileage, and I'm considering suggesting a late 80s early 90s Burb for the better ride quality, better mileage with diesel, and room for the whole family (including the 2 dogs.) What should I do from here? How would you go about winning the discussion?
