Stand clear Scariest thing on the roof.
I have never seen that in person except from a Destroyer Escort. I can't imagine being close to it.
Just never turn your back on an aircraft that is trapping. That way you'll at least have a chance if something ****s up
In the last pic....am i just being stupid or is that a missile on the deck that guy is running past??
Yes it is
Smaller than an AIM-7 though. Not sure what kind
AIM-9 Sidewinder. Old pic apparently it came off the wing tip lau on the recovery
Thanks!I thought I was seeing things. that has got to suck...
man we had one of those(winder) stuck in our radome, yellow shirt spread the wings to soon, and taxied the 18 into our radome
luckly it was blue.
dumbass boat chucks
AFAIK we dont use AIM-7's anymore
pretty much the same size, but way better
What would I know. I am Surface Combat Systems type. I know RIM-7's are still used.......NSSMS
Yeah we still fly Sparrows. Usually at least one, one AMMRAM, two winders or 9 X's, and then various GBU's Mavericks and JDAM's Yeahh 2 or 3 of them baby's
The first 2 pics - are they yours, or someone else's? If yours, did they come from the LSO platform? How'd you manage that one?!
I see a possible 3-wire in the first pic, and a 2-wire in the second.
Yeah the first couple are from the LSO platform. Our squadron Photographer took them i think, or one of the pilots. I took the ones from Vultures row
see i was wrong too
i never worked on jets that carried cool missles
all we got was the HARM
speaking of, how bout some prowler shots, enough of the foo-foo 18's already huh?
OK I think I have some. I know i have a prowler landing video. They spend a lot of cruise downstairs all torn apart
hey i never said they weren't pieces of ****, but they are cool.
Thunderbolt II's do it in the dirt!!!
That is all.....................
Do you have "Highway to the Danger Zone" playing in your head all day working on a carrier? LOL
Separate names with a comma.
