trim here and chop there

Is that 2" from the bottom of the door or 2" from the bumpout at the bottom of the door?

I am just trying to figure if the bottom of the door lip is all that you trimmed or more.

Thanks.

The step part of the cab in the door way, is where the bottom of the new rockers which are 2" tall.
I think using that part for the top of the rocker would be better than stock and still keep the whole door.

I hope the pics help. I tried to show what is hidden was under the outer metal
I cut the frame off and started the rear bumper then the drill died

Well here are some pics from clawhammer. broke an outer and slamed the sides alot still. Broke the welds on the tierod doing aftershock, night run so no pics.

I was considering this same mod to my Suburban, last sunday I was looking how to do it. I'm just worried about how cutting rockers affects to body, because seatbelt is bolted next to rocker. If it were used only offroad, I wouldn't worry about it, but since mine will be DD too, safety is a great factor to consider on this kind of mods.

Careful and exact cuts, and quality welds, it should be plenty strong, though.

Do you have any close up pics of those body mount boxes? How you did those?

I just cut the mounts at the rocker and left them whole. I was goin to do some bracing on it but I kinda smashed them last weekend so I am going to cut the flat and leave them. I landed on the a few times and the welds are holding up fine.

I dig the cut in the rear, nice job. tapered at the top and bottom, looks cool. you going to cap it? What about body structure, you notice anything strange?

Ok, thanks. I took a good look at the rockers and bodymount boxes, and decided to cut bottom off from the boxes, and angle it up to rocker tube. Then I just weld a plate to a open section. I would have to cut them open anyways, because when I took the body off the frame, I had to use cutoff wheel to get 3 bolts off because the nut thingy inside the box broke off and started to spin.

I put the doors back on this weekend, not that I care but the girls dont like the cold

I cut 2" off the inside lip or 3" off the outside lip

Hey where did you get the "Sub Culture" logo? Could I bother you for a copy of it? I was trying to get someone to modify the regular CK5 logo, but he never got back to me with a finished product.
