What does GOLF stand for? I don't want the defenition, I want the meaning of the letters.
Gentlemen Only, Ladies Forbidden...
But thats not really true... It's derived from the scotish term gowff....
I think its Celtic.
I know its probably not what your looking for, but its the best I could do.
I heard it from a late night gathering during my family reunion. I was going to post it then, but forgot. I thought that meaning was kind of cool.
there ya go Corey.
That works to......
lol, i hate golf.
Whiskey Tango Foxtrot......
you try carrying a golf bag over a par 72 18, just cause you aren't coordinated enough to play doesn't mean you get to make fun of those who can
I'd be curious as to mileage.. i always figured you had to be walking 5, 6, 7 miles...
And yup, for the big sports, I still say its the most difficult sports act... many will argue hitting a fastball, I don't agree... there's a million nuances to the golf swing and sooooo many things you can do wrong...
I hate golf. I've only played one and a half times. The half of the time I played, I made it to the sixth hole and was too drunk to go on. Personally, from now on, I'm just going to drink the beer in one setting. I'm not walking all over the place chasing some damn ball.
personally, i find golf to be a very pointless game. lets hit a little ball, chase it down, and hit it again. hit it one time, hit it right, and be done with it already. fock that chasing it around chit!
Holland is believed to be the origin of the name of golf but not the actual game itself. Holland played a game in the 1200s called Colf, which means clubs. This was a form of golf but once again the form of many other sports. Colf has been traced back to Dec. 26, 1297, in the town of Loenen aan de Vecht in northern Holland. On that day, the local townsfolk played four holes of the game to commemorate the relieving of the Kronenburg Castle exactly one year before. The fact that Colf was chosen to mark the occasion is proof that the game was already popular by that time.
Stock car racing is pointless.. You go round and round a track...
Golf is a really good excuse to drink beer (as is NASCAR ). Around here, everyone rides around on golf carts, and that's half the fun right there. We usually try to get the latest tee time so we don't bother anyone and go raise hell.
and see who can go the distance (or get the farthest) the fastest. and you're only doing it once.
haha, I can't believe you replied to that with a serious attempt at justifying it...
What IS that smell?
Oh I know ...it smells like.......
and chock on it!
