Truck tailgate on Blazer

Cig lighter is a fun kill switch option. Run the ignition ground there and it has to be in to run. Won't pop out since it doesn't heat up.

Swap in a manual trans. Only old school car thiefs will be able to figure it out and most of them are retired at this point

LOl one of my coworkers did a new clutch in gmt400 after he was done, the truck wouldn't move in any direction. At lunch he was bummed out, thinking the pressure plate or hydraulic throw out bearing fubar. I am like that truck is 4wd is the t case in gear ? we went and looked and it was in neutral lol.

Having a hell of time finding a rear window from a camper. The campers I'm seeing are well over $500. For that price I may as well save for a soft top.

Will this plexiglass even be worth the trouble of cutting to fit, getting all necessary things for it to work attached to the bed shell?

Then some binge type thing to attach to the plexi glass and to the hard top?

May be talking out of turn here and maybe i missed it but why not just go soft top with truck tailgate?

Have you ever had top off? If not, i challenge you to take it off and enjoy it for a weekend (assuming you have to get top back on).

Now think about how awesome it is with top off and how much of a hassle it is to wrestle fiberglass top off. Taking it off is liberating. Then think about how easy it will be to retract top or roll up sides and back for shaded topless cruising. At the end of the weekend, put the top back on and how much of a hassle it is o get back on. Will that really be the only time you experience your k5 with the top off? It cant be, it was too much fun! I think once you go down that path, you will become a believer and a soft top will be in your shopping cart. Once installed, you will wish you had done it sooner. Just my 2 cents.

No, I do not benefit from the future sale of a soft top. Just a concerned fellow k5 owner.

I can't disagree with any of this. I was just looking for a way to ditch the window tailgate and put a truck one on, without taking to fiberglass top off.

Soft top is definitely in the future but just not any time soon. Everytime I've had "extra" money the last few weeks something else goes wonky in the house or other cars.

I have the truck tailgate with with what a soft top costs I have other plans for that money. Exhaust, drive lines and putting in the 205 replacing the 203.

Honestly, i would save the money you are looking to spend on the rear window mods and out that towards soft top. If the end goal is a soft top, then the flip up window mod will be useless and wont be worth much to anyone looking for a hardtop to put back on their k5.

Just trying to save you long term. If you never intended to take top off, different story.

Point taken. I'll think I'll go with your advice. Thanks

Now take the top off and enjoy this weekend! Haha. In all seriousness, its the coolest part of a k5. I was originally planning to put hardtop back on for winter, but the more I think about it I dont think I’m going to. Its a hassle and i dont drive the truck once there is a threat of salt on the road until spring. West coast is completely different story and I’m jealous.

the looks on peoples faces when your driving around is priceless (not that i care what other people think). Lots of broken necks staring thats for sure, at least around here.

I know this is an old thread but the latest towmater video had a cucv in it with a flip up back window, they didn't show it working, I just caught it as they walked around it.
