all my tires are showing some dry rot cracks, tire place said its b/c i let the mud stay on them and when it dried it also caused the tires to dry which causes cracking, so wash the mud off your tires. i have 44x18.5x15 and 2 of them are leaking down now, i bought 15x10 steelies w/2.5'' b.s. so i could run them cause my d60,...and i hit up all 5 of my local tire stores asking about tubes for these big tires, they said only thing they have are ag tubes, that won't stand up to tube to tire abrasion and not d.o.t. legal and wouldn't stand up to road driving.

anyone know of any street legal tubes that will fit these large tires or are these tires doomed to mud bog use for the remaining 60% of tread life? i sure hope not, i got enuff cash for new tires but not new wheels also and i need to go up to a 17 or 18'' wheel b/c i've stepped up to 1 tons, please tell me there are tubes that are street legal for 44's!

Tubes are a thing of the past i'm afraid. You might be able to have a tire store order some tubes for you though. Also IIRC you should never run a tube in a radial tire (don't know if yours are but doubtful in a 44" tire). Also if the tire is leaking because of the tire being cracked i would NEVER run that tire again (at least on the street) just think about the lawsuit you would have on your hands when it was discovered that you had bad tires that caused an accident and hurt or possibly killed someone.

I have cracked, dry rotted, 36" Swampers with tubes. I have no problems.

i bought one years ago at a semi truck place. but i think it was rated for a 33-38 inch tire. i put it in a new 35 that i blew the sidewall out on.

my tires are bias ply...i read about a place that had dot tubes for our big tires, you had to drill out the valve stem hole to 5/8th,iirc..& he sold a little sleeve to go in the valve stem hole should you ever go tubeless again..i thought i had bookmarked his page, but i can't find it and can't find the site w/google...i was hopeing 1 of ya'll knew the place...i think i ran across it in a thread off of pirate that was linked here b/c i never go to pirate unless some1 links a thread here.

i used search and read alot of threads about tubes in bias ply tires, in every thread several people say they are doin it no problems, even on the streets, some say put talc in the tire. i read alot, and alot of warnings, but not 1 failure from tubes in tires from 33'' tubes in 38.5 tires, to ag tubes & big truck tubes...so i really don't know!

The mud caused the tires to dry rot? Some one was talking out their beeehind.

I would say the sun or the heat... but not the mud.
