Tubing bender recommendations

The Takacs plans were awesome. Hardest part was drilling the holes (and making sure they lined up. Mines built now, with the die, but got too cold to cover in paint. Very compact lil rig, but heavy. Got a couple pics of all the pieces in this forum before my buddy welded it together. That site shows a lot of pics in use, and modifications people came up with.

Anyone know anything about roller benders? Something I can roll a stick of pipe into a complete circle with?? Looked around some with no success.

There are several available. What is your bubget? Harbor freight offers one and there is a guy on ebay that makes tube dies for theirs. The HF one says it is a tube roller, but I believe they are pipe dies. Pro Tools offers one that is one of the least expensive of the quality ones although they say it won't do a full circle. Then they go up in price from there. Just remember, you get what you pay for.

Would you happen have any info on this said seller? I'm looking to get the HF bender but I can't seem to find the guy on ebay that sells the dies for the HF style bender.
I've found dies on ebay. I'm just not sure if they will work with the HF bender.
I'm looking for a 1 3/4" tube die. I just need to add a couple pieces to an existing cage so I'm trying to do this on the cheap. Thanks, MJ

damn im as bad as 68mudstud:doah:

Also, try Blindchickenracing.com there is a homemade bender I haven't seen before, but I don't think you can get much more basic than this. Only problem I see with would be the bending radius so close to the ground, if you are doing multiple bends.

Sorry my mistake :doah: I thought they were on ebay but I didn't find them either. He does however have a video on You Tube.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eRIP8uKgsr8

And his website.....

I see that he now has square tube dies as well

Looking at picking up a bender soon, and wanted some opinions.

Is it worth the extra $$ to get the HD model benders that will do 2" tube?

Not sure if its necessary since most things are all 1.75 or 1.5, but dont like to limit myself.

Kinda leaning towards the Probender vertical one thats air over hyd, but may got with a JD2 or Protools and just add the harbor freight cylinder.

If finances allow I would go with the 105HD. Like you say no need to limit yourself. Who knows what you might be wanting to do later on. It would also have a better resale value should the need arise.
