Has anyone had experience with Tubing Bender?
Looks a lot like the Harbor Freight pipe bender.....not the correct item for bending tube (ie. Roll cages, etc) since the dies are based on pipe I.D. dimensions, whereas tubing is based on O.D. dimensions....
Wish it wasn't that way....the correct tubing benders are quite a bit more expensive. See my thread on this same board asking for sources.... /forums/images/icons/cool.gif
I just picked my JD2 model 3 bender through www.jd2.com last month. The price is relatively inexpensive compared to the majority of them out there and it works really good and consistent. The hardest part with the tube benders is finding a place to mount it. I mounted mine to a long piece of square tubing which fit in my k5's receiver hitch and it holds it tight without modifying the concrete in the garage.
Did you have to buy the bender and dies, or does it come with some?
I bought the bender with the degree wheel (free) and a single 1 1/2" 180* 4.5 inch die. I might also order a 1 3/4" 180* die as well bu I'm doing pretty good with what I have.
