Tubing notchers?

Cutting Guide

This may not find much application for our rigs but I thought I would pass it on.
I went to my local Atwood's (much like a Tractor Supply) today and found this: http://www.northerntool.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_6970_200306063_200306063 It was on clearance for $7.46. Looks like it only comes in 2 3/8" but that was what I was working with on a quick-and-dirty wood rack project so I took a chance. It works well for saddles - the only thing I'v tried so far.

I also found these:

They worked well also; much better than soapstone and it does show up well when you are using a torch.

Good luck!

I use those welders pencils at work all the time. I agree, much better than a soapstone by a long shot :thumb:

the old way... take a piece of tube, the size you plan to use. Take a piece of poster board and tape it taught around the tube. Remove i and there is your template. Cut to fit... Put back on your tube and it's pretty close to a perfect fit. Plus you can re-use it if you need to make more then one of the same piece. Much better then using a tubing notcher.

the new way...I bought one of those pipe masters from tricktools.com smae idea but less time. Works pretty good so far. Haven't used it too much yet though http://vansantent.com/pipemaster.htm
