twin stick? tripple stick?

MNorby - Well, first off, yes, i need lots more wheel time. want it, crave it, need it, am horney for it, you get the jist. Im hoping to build the rig the way i want it, so i can drive it around town, and to the trails, and on the trails, without needing a trailor or anything like that. And once its built, getting out there much more often. But the one thing i DONT want to be is a poser, so i figured id ask about it and see if its something id use, or just put on to look cool.

Dirtygoat - much to my dismay, no, i do not feel i qualify as a wheeler.... no, actually im quite certain of it. But id like to be, workin on it. :)

In that case do it now. Its a lot easier to do it now and progress into using it than not have and wish you did later.

Do it dude :waytogo:

All you have to do is get out there...

After you've got some seat time, you'll understand that there is a lot of things you really don't need... You'll also figure out that there are things you can't live without...

Most of the people that tell you to do this to your truck or you have to have this part, are giving you their online experience... Not actual wheeling experience...

I've been in the woods wheeling since the '70s... I learn more about my rig and others by wheeling them... You'll learn more in a weekend wheeling with the right crowd than you could learn staring at a computer screen for months...

Experience/seat time is the key... You'll learn what works and what doesn't work...

thanks guys. I appriciate the input. And i totally agree, the wheel time is key, but until the truck is fixed, and money is in the bank, online wheeling is a nice watered down fix. once i get the truck back from the body shop the lift and tires are going on. once ive got the truck together and driveable, ill start assembling the new trans and tcase, and put those in at a later date.

Trust me when most people start building a Chevy truck, we all say this. Even the hardcore rock guys. Then one thing leads to another and you end up like me or Mnorby or any number of guys here now who love to trailer their rigs cause we can beat on them.

Of course I am planning a whole nother build to attain what you are shooting for a trail rider, that can be driven every day

He's right. It's not that we can't drive down the road with our rigs, it's just a whole lot of fun being able to beat the crap out of your rig with no big worries. Just have to make it back to the trailer, or bring it to you. Between that, off road tires are more expensive, better fuel mileage when pulling than driving and lets not forget the all important A/C in the tow rig.

lol, yeah trust me i suffer the same affliction. however, as much as id love to have a beefy Detroit Diesel powered K30 tow rig, and a maxed out truggy for the trails, money, and more importantly my living situation forbids me from having that many vehicles. Just dont have the space. I live with my parents, and when i have enough money to move out it will most likely be into an apartment. Ive got the jetta, the truck, and the camaro, and as it is the camaro is a burden that im trying to get rid of. So for the time being, a street legal, daily driveable trail rig is manditory.
