Just when I had fully decided to get the S10 build up done... some guy down the street is selling an 89 K1500. So help me out on this thought process. I really want a straight axle NBS truck. And a buddy of mine is hooking up with a local custom shop to start a truck branch(now all they do is Jeeps), so a truck to slap stickers on and drive around would be a nice thing to have, especially if its a SAS NBS truck to attract attention.
Here is my thoughts(yes I know I think too much, its a trait all my friends and I share, dreamers I guess):
Option 1 - K1500:
-drop in my 383 and throw a fuel cell in the bed and just drive it around moving quickly and soudning badass. This would work out well since the truck has TBI so with some mods and a chip it could support the engine(with a new cam) and I'd have a nice fuel injected new motor in the truck.
-throw a 1" body lift on it for a little clearance
-straight axle the truck with my HP Dana 60 and mate it up to the 241 for a short time until I can afford good driveshafts to match the Doubler.
-throw a Dana 60 under the rear and imboard the rear springs, providing the needed lift and better flex vs those WAY out there 63s.
-throw on some 37 IROKs or some 38.5 SXs and just run around the area and drive to Paragon, no tow rig needed.
-has the advantage of seat time whereas I went really hardcore direction really fast with little real hardcore seat time.
Option 2 - S10:
-FINISH THE DAMN THING AND WHEEL THE **** OUT OF IT UNTIL THERE IS NOTHING LEFT!!!!
-Con to this is not including the initial cost this would be more expensive than the K1500.
Ehh ok time for you guys to yell at me and tell me I'm a dumbass and all, ha.
